The Lakeside Fire-Rescue is a combination department made up of full-time, part-time, paid-on-call, paid-on-premises, and intern members which is expanding to serve 220 sq. miles covering 11 municipalities across Rock, Dane and Jefferson counties including the cities of Edgerton and Milton and surrounding Towns with a population exceeding 25,000. The Department covers 19.7 miles of Interstate 39/90 and portions of Lake Koshkonong and the Rock, Yahara, Badfish and Koshkonong waterways. The EFD provides a full range of paramedic-level 9-1-1 response, inter-facility transfer, structure fire, haz-mat, transportation fire, wildland fire, MABAS, water/ice rescue, crash, and rescue responses. The Department expects an average 7+ calls per day with yearly run volumes exceeding 2600.
