The Lakeside Fire-Rescue is a combination department made up of full-time, part-time, paid-on-call, paid-on-premise, and intern members serving 11 municipalities across Rock, Dane and Jefferson counties, including the cities of Edgerton and Milton and surrounding Towns, with a population exceeding 25,000. The Department covers 220 squares miles, including 19.7 miles of Interstate 39/90 and portions of Lake Koshkonong and the Rock, Yahara, Badfish and Koshkonong waterways. The Department provides a full range of paramedic-level 9-1-1 response, inter-facility transfer, structure fire, haz-mat, transportation fire, wildland fire, MABAS, water/ice rescue, crash, and rescue responses. The Department averages 7+ calls per day with yearly run volumes exceeding 2600.
